“Keep Breaking the Shell That Holds You”
Once, I listened to a song from a Japanese movie, and there were two lines of lyrics that went like this:
“What does it mean to live as yourself?
It means to keep breaking the shell that holds you.”
I really like these two lines. The “shell” in the lyrics seems to refer to many things, such as something that limits your growth (like fear, shame, or past trauma), or internal conflict (where your inner self is completely different from how you present yourself), and other things not mentioned. It also includes breaking the shell to step out of your comfort zone.
Well, let me start with stepping out of the comfort zone.
Without Action, Plans are Meaningless
I’ve realized that I really enjoy thinking and planning, but often, after making plans, I don’t follow through. Of course, there are some objective factors, like insufficient resources, but many times it’s something I could actually execute, yet I still don’t, and eventually, it fades from memory. So, let’s start with the “plan -> execute” model. I’ll try repeatedly planning and executing, with the emphasis on execution.
